Growing up in Gujarat, India, I was immersed in a world where the kitchen was the heart of our home – a place where my grandmother and mother crafted vibrant vegetarian dishes, each infused with sweet, spicy, and sour flavors. These early experiences ignited my passion for cooking and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the rich culinary traditions of my heritage.

Food has always been more than just nourishment for me – it is memory, connection, and the language of love. Growing up, I spent countless hours in my grandmother’s kitchen, where every meal told a story and every spice carried generations of wisdom. These early experiences shaped my deep appreciation for food that is not only delicious but also meaningful- steeped in tradition yet evolving with time.

My cooking is rooted in authenticity but embraces creativity. While I hold close the flavors of my childhood-fragrant dals, vibrant pickles, and slow-simmered curries. I also love experimenting, weaving together spices and influences from my travels and everyday experiences. Whether it’s a cherished Gujarati dish or a globally inspired meal, my philosophy remains the same: food should be approachable, joyful, and shared.

In my kitchen, spices are more than ingredients—they are storytellers. They have the power to transport us to different places, evoke emotions, and bring people together. Through my books and recipes, I hope to inspire home cooks to explore, experiment, and create meals that feel both exciting and familiar.

For me, food is always meant to be shared. Some of my happiest moments are around a crowded table—passing plates, laughing over a home-cooked meal, and savoring the simple joy of being together. My kitchen has always been open to family and friends, whether for a casual weekday dinner or a long, spice-filled feast.
